Practice manager extraordinaire

Shona is Selena’s ‘Donna’. In a former life, she worked as an Executive Assistant across multiple industries. Now she manages Selena’s calendar, is loved by our clients, and is deeply uncomfortable about writing bios. When Shona is not herding cats (i.e. Selena), she could be found at the gym, getting a take-away coffee, or building Lego with her son.

Social media and admin assistant

Shardae is the reason that Selena’s social media posts, slide decks, and resources all look as good as they do. In a former life, Shardae worked as an early childhood educator, but her keen eye for design, means that she was an easy choice to reinvigorate and create cohesive branding. Shardae can usually be found mum-ing her four kids, or getting a great coffee.

Research assistant, podcast producer, schools presenter

Kate is a secondary school educator with experience in both private and state sectors in Queensland. As an English and humanities teacher, she is passionate about empowering young people through education and the development of critical literacy skills. She also has a degree in communications and advertising and prior to becoming a teacher worked in marketing for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. Kate is the producer of Dr Selena Fisk’s ‘Make Data Talk’ podcast as well as working closely with Selena on the development of the Data Champions program. When she’s not producing Selena’s podcast and newsletter, she’s wrangling her three young children and dreaming about a house renovation.

Libby started her career in educational leadership with more than 15 years teaching experience in Australia and overseas. She has held various roles in schools and is passionate about the positive influence data storytelling can have on the whole school ecosystem. Most recently, she has split her time between developing entrepreneurship programs, running workshops for staff and students, and working with startups to tell their business story in preparation for investment... and she loves a good spreadsheet.

Kylie is a passionate educator with a keen interest in working alongside schools to enact meaningful and impactful pedagogies to improve student outcomes informed by data. Throughout her 14 years of teaching experience in the NT and WA, Kylie has worked with a range of educators, schools and systems in a variety of metropolitan, regional and remote contexts. She has facilitated workshops across primary and secondary schools to support educators to build their data literacy in a practical and contextually meaningful way, in order to promote data storytelling. Kylie has also worked closely with leadership teams to strategically plan ways to enhance the capacity of staff to improve outcomes for all students.

Tanya is an educator whose values are learning and growth. After 7 years as a corporate lawyer, she found the purpose she'd been looking for: becoming a teacher with the Teach for Australia program which aims to ensure that education gives every child a greater choice for their future. Tanya's 12 years experience in education has included mentoring, leadership, delivering professional development, research, consulting, monitoring and evaluation and a range of data projects. She believes that it is difficult to improve what you don't measure and that we all deserve, especially our children and young people, learning that propels us forward.
